HY-5180 One-Component Waterborne Polypropylene Resin Emulsion
HY-5180 is a one-component waterborne polypropylene resin emulsion prepared with maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene as the main component. The product is a milky white liquid with good water dispersibility and can be diluted with deionized or softened water, making it suitable for waterborne treatment formulations for polypropylene systems and related low-surface-energy materials. The maleic anhydride grafted structure provides the resin with a certain number of polar groups, helping improve its interfacial bonding with glass fiber, inorganic fillers, polar resins and some coating systems.

Recommended Applications
- Polypropylene-type glass fiber sizing and finishing agents
- Interfacial treatment systems for PP/GF reinforced composites
- Surface treatment systems for polypropylene modified materials and inorganic fillers
- Waterborne primers, adhesion promoters and surface treatment agents for polypropylene substrates
- Formulations for improving interfacial bonding between polypropylene and fillers such as glass fiber, calcium carbonate and talc
- Waterborne functional treatment systems for polypropylene nonwovens, woven plastic materials, films and related products
Usage Recommendations
Stir well before use. Depending on process requirements, it can be gradually diluted with deionized or softened water; add water while stirring to avoid a change in system stability caused by adding a large amount of water at once.
When used in glass fiber sizing agents, it can be compounded with wetting agents, film-forming aids, coupling agents, antistatic agents, lubricants and defoamers. For PP reinforcement materials or filler-modified systems, the emulsion dosage can be optimized according to the final resin matrix, fiber type, molding temperature and target properties.
If used in coating or bonding systems for low-surface-energy PP substrates, it is recommended to combine it with corona, flame, plasma or other surface treatment processes to further improve adhesion and durability. Before formal application, tests for compatibility, emulsion stability, dilution stability, sizing pick-up, adhesion and subsequent processing performance are recommended.
Storage & Transportation
Packaging:50 kg and 200 kg plastic drums or as per customer requirements
Storage conditions:Store in a cool, dry and ventilated place at a recommended temperature of 5-35°C. Avoid sunlight, high temperature, freezing and severe vibration during transportation and storage
Precautions:The product should remain sealed and used as soon as possible after opening. Freezing is strictly prohibited; low-temperature freezing may cause emulsion breaking, stratification and performance degradation
